Canadian Credit Card Club

“Nobody offers the services we provide to our members.”

That claim comes from Paul Miroshnikov at the Canadian Credit Card Club. Miroshnikov, born in Italy and raised in South America, came to Canada in 1959. He started the Club to help people deal with less-than-perfect credit histories.

“It’s a credit repair business,” Miroshnikov says. “We help people to establish good credit.”

“People may lose good credit for a number of reasons,” Miroshnikov explains. “Disability, marital breakup, poor judgment, all of these can hurt your credit.”

As the club’s name suggests, the Credit Card service makes a fully secured Visa credit card with a $1,000 limit available to Club clients.

“Clients pay a monthly fee to the Club,” says Miroshnikov. “Part of that fee goes to securing the Visa card. As each successful month passes, the credit limit climbs up."

There are financial priorities besides credit cards, like housing and cars. The Club covers those bases as well. “Our members can buy or sell a home at half the normal real estate commission,” Miroshnikov says. “Through the Club, members also get better mortgage rates than they could find on their own.”

The Club helps with the transportation dilemma, too. “Members can be pre-approved for a loan to buy a reasonable car for up to $10,000,” says Miroshnikov. “With this pre-approval, clients can negotiate better prices with dealerships who would otherwise charge much higher prices and interest.”

The Club regularly reports to credit bureaus such as Equifax and Trans Union on their members’ progress. Members fix their credit in full view of credit agencies, creating a positive image where it matters.

Membership has its perks, too. For example, once a year, members can choose a deal on vacations, both local and in foreign lands, through the Club.

“It’s a ten-year membership, but clients only pay dues for the first four years,” says Miroshnikov. “It’s a four-year forced-savings plan that helps members first build credit worthiness, then take over their own financial destinies while continuing to take advantage of the Club’s benefits for another six years.”

One other thing – at the end of the first four years, clients receive half of their fees back with two per cent interest. “Forced savings,” repeats Miroshnikov.

“At the Canadian Credit Card Club, we help people get back on the right track.”
